Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Communication and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi highlighted the crucial role of positive media coverage in driving rapid infrastructure development in Papua during a meeting with West Papua journalists in Jakarta on Monday (18/9/2023).
Minister Arie emphasized the need for journalists to enhance their skills to improve the quality of print, electronic, and online media content, especially in the ever-evolving landscape of information and technology in Papua.
"Clever journalists and strong media outlets provide valuable information to the people of Papua," he stated as reported by antaranews.com
Usman Kansong, Director-General of Public Information and Communication at the Ministry, underscored the importance of positive media coverage in supporting Papua's development programs and ensuring comprehensive information for the public.
The Director General has organized an annual program that brings ten journalists from West Papua and Southwest Papua to various Indonesian cities in 2023. This program aims to enrich the journalists' insights and provide valuable experiences.
The Jakarta segment of the program includes meetings with Minister Arie, the Press Council, Antara News Agency, and Kompas newspaper. The journalists are scheduled to visit the Museum of Communications at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
Following their Jakarta visit, the journalists will head to Bandung for discussions with Padjadjaran University and visits to two mass media outlets. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
