inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will sacrifice 1,098 bulls for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, distributed to 552 regions, educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, social organizations, community leaders, and religious leaders throughout Indonesia.
Vice Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro stated that 598 bulls were distributed to 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities, with 500 cows given to institutions and community leaders.
"So, on Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, the President is pleased to hand over 1,098 sacrificial bulls, which will be distributed first to all provinces, all regencies, and all municipalities. So, 552 regions—38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities—will receive 598 cows for all provincial and regency/city governments," explained Juri on Tuesday (5/26/2026).
He explained that the number of bulls distributed to the regions was greater than the number of recipient regions because 46 regions did not meet the presidential bull weight standard, which is between 800 kilograms and 1.3 tons.
In addition to local governments, 500 sacrificial bulls were also distributed to educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, socio-religious institutions, community leaders, and religious figures.
Juri stated that the sacrificial bulls distributed were premium breeds, including Simmental, Limousin, Ongole Crossbreed, Brahman, Angus, Bali cattle, FH, Belgian Blue, and Charolais.
According to him, all bulls had veterinary health certificates, were over two years old, male, and had no defects, thus fulfilling the requirements for sacrificial animals according to Islamic law.
"So, the cattle are premium cattle and of excellent quality," said Deputy Minister Juri.
He added that the provision of the 1,098 bulls was carried out through coordination between the Ministry of State Secretariat through the Presidential Secretariat, the Ministry of Agriculture, regional livestock and animal health services, and the Indonesian Cattle Breeders and Fatteners Association (APPSI).
All the sacrificial cattle came from local breeders. The government hopes that the momentum of providing the president's sacrificial animals will encourage increased productivity and quality of domestic cattle farming and support the development of the national livestock industry.
