inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The President tested the use of drones to spread rice seeds during the mass planting on 105,000 hectares of swamp land in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Wednesday.
The President was amazed at the effectiveness of the use of drones that can speed up the rice planting period in the swamp land.
“I tried it myself, and I was surprised. I just knew that with this drone, in one day it can plant the rice up to 25 hectares,” says Prabowo amazed, quoted from Antara, Wednesday (4/23/2025).
During his working visit, President Prabowo reviewed the land improvement area that was previously a swamp and unproductive. However, currently the area has been utilized as a 105-hectare rice field area with a planting system utilizing modern techniques.
The President tried out the spreading of rice seeds using agricultural technology, namely the DJI Agras T40 drone. According to the President, spreading seeds using this technology can reach 25 hectares of land in one day.
Therefore, the President is optimistic that the swampy lands in Ogan Ilir, which were previously unproductive, can become new food barns in South Sumatra.
The President continued that the ideal of realizing Indonesia's food self-sufficiency is already within sight. Indonesia, according to the President, will not only be self-sufficient in food, but will also become the world's food barn.
"Right now, we are already helping other countries. We help our neighbors in providing food. We help, and this is something that makes me proud. I became the President of a country that does not beg, but helps its neighbors," said President Prabowo.
Therefore, the President also expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and all his staff at the Ministry of Agriculture, then also to the regional government, and all farmer groups, especially in Ogan Ilir and South Sumatra for the efforts.
