inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) assessed that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto demonstrated Indonesia's consistent foreign policy towards Palestine and Israel.

"President Prabowo's statement about Indonesia's readiness to recognize the existence of the state of Israel on the condition that the existence of the state of Palestine is recognized and determined, is consistent with the two-state solution policy that Indonesia has confirmed since the beginning," said Gus Yahya in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday (5/31/2025).

Gus Yahya views the importance of solid consolidation from global countries so that this firm stance can be realized in real steps and agendas.

"What needs to be done next is to carry out international mobilization and consolidation through legitimate multilateral platforms to roll out a decisive political process towards realizing the two-state solution," he said.

Furthermore, Yahya emphasized that the main priority at this time is to save the lives of thousands of children as well as women and the elderly from the threat of violence due to war.

This goal, he said, can be achieved by inspiring and demanding the international community to comply with existing agreements.

"The international community must consolidate to uphold existing agreements related to the Israeli-Palestinian issue with strict implementation by all parties," he said.
