Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo highlighted the absence of rice aid programs in other countries compared to Indonesia, on Friday (16/2/2024).
"Unlike elsewhere, there's no rice aid comparable to ours. Our state budget can cover it," President Jokowi assured, referring to the rice aid initiative arranged until June 2024, providing 10 kg per family monthly during rice price hikes.
Acknowledging the potential shortfall, he stated, "If asked whether it's enough, surely it's not enough. I already know the answer. But still, it helps."
President Jokowi pledged to extend the assistance beyond June if the state budget allows.
"We'll assess the state budget's capability, if feasible, we'll continue. However, my commitment stands until June. We'll review the budget, if funds remain, the aid can be prolonged," he said.
