Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The South Korean volleyball club, Daejeon CheongKwanJang Red Sparks, is set to face the Indonesian national team in the opening match of the 2024 Proliga season. Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, announced on Friday (16/2/2024), the friendly match between the Red Sparks, which houses Indonesia's athlete Megawati Hangestri, and the Garuda squad will mark a collaboration between his ministry and the Sports Development and Business Management Agency (LPDUK), antaranews.com reported. Currently competing in the top tier of the South Korean Volleyball League, or V League, Megawati, also known as Megatron, expressed her willingness to return to Indonesia after the competition ends and is open to the possibility of participating in the friendly match. The 2024 Proliga will take place in nine cities across Indonesia from 25 April to  21 July 2024. The participating men's teams include six contenders, including defending champions Jakarta LavAni Allobank, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Jakarta STIN BIN, Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax, Palembang Bank SumselBabel, and Kudus Sukun Badak. The women's teams are the defending champions Bandung Bank BJB Tandamata, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Jakarta Pertamina Fastron, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia, Jakarta BIN, Jakarta Elektrik PLN, and newcomers Jakarta Livin Mandiri.
