Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto epxressed government's commitment in stopping rice, corn, and salt by the end of 2025 to reach the goal of food self-sufficiency.

"We have to be able to provide food to the people of Indonesia. No more imports. I also want to thank the ministries who have reported to me that in 2025 we will be able not to import rice, corn, and salt anymore," says President Prabowo on Wednesday (1/22/2025).

President Prabowo says that the national food self-sufficiency target can be achieved faster than the initial target of four years.

"The target that I have set to reach the goal of food self-sufficiency in 4 years can be achieved by the end of 2025, or at the very least in 2026. So maybe one year faster than the initial target," says Prabowo.

He emphasized that this achievement is the result of hard work and the right policies, which ensure that the food needs of the Indonesian people are met without relying on imports.

According to him, this achievement shows that with hard work, the right policy orientation, and good intentions, Indonesia is able to achieve food independence faster than the initial plan.

Indonesia, said President Prabowo, should not depend on foreign sources, especially in facing the global crisis.
