Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto paid his final respects to three heroic TNI soldiers who died serving the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon during a repatriation ceremony at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday (4/4/2026).
President Prabowo personally consoled the grieving families at the Terminal 3 VIP building.
Accompanied by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto, the President honored posthumous promotees Major Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Fist Sergeant Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Corporal Farizal Rhomadhon. The somber atmosphere was shared by Indonesia’s 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who attended in a ceremonial blue UN beret to stand alongside the fallen personnel’s widows and children.
Following the presidential tribute, the flag-draped caskets were formally released in a military ceremony led by Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak. The fallen peacekeepers was later transported via Air Force aircraft to their respective hometowns for burial with full military honors, marking a period of national mourning for the lives lost in the escalating Middle Eastern conflict.
