Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar extended his 2026 Easter greetings to Indonesian Christians on Saturday (4/4/2026), calling for collective prayers to maintain the nation's harmony and social tranquility.
"I urge the Christian community to use this joyful Easter celebration to pray for Indonesia, so we may live in a peaceful, serene, and harmonious atmosphere," he said as reported by antaranews.com.
The Minister, who also serves as the Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, said that Easter transcends religious ritual by reinforcing spiritual values essential for communal life.
He highlighted the importance of using this momentum to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood across Indonesia’s diverse society, especially following the 40-day Lenten season and the Holy Week observances of Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
