Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto committed to constructing decent housing for residents living along the railway tracks in Senen, Central Jakarta, following an impromptu field inspection of the slum area on Thursday afternoon (26/3/2026).

"After hearing the aspirations of the community here, God willing, we will immediately and swiftly build proper housing for the people in this district," he said via his official social media channel, as cited by antaranews.com

Accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya, the President walked through the settlement located just three kilometers from the city center to assess living conditions firsthand. 

During the visit, residents enthusiastically welcomed the Head of State, who engaged with families and children regarding their daily needs and schooling. The President said that providing dignified shelter remains a core priority of his administration, asking residents directly if they would support a government-led housing project, a proposal met with unanimous cheers from the local residents.
