Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. President Prabowo Subianto has declared a zero-defect standard for Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program starting in 2026, signaling tighter supervision and equal distribution nationwide.
The statement was delivered during the Red and White Cabinet’s Early-Year Briefing at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, on Tuesday (6/1/2026).
“We started on 6 January 2025, and as of January 6, 2026, the program has reached 55 million beneficiaries,” President Prabowo said, as cited by antaranews.com
The President explained that MBG was launched to address urgent child nutrition problems, as around 20 percent of Indonesian children suffer from malnutrition, rising to 30 percent in some regions. He noted that Indonesia reached 55 million recipients in just one year, surpassing similar programs in other countries.
Despite a reported 99.99 percent success rate, President Prabowo stressed that even minor shortcomings must be corrected. He ordered stricter monitoring to ensure no child is left behind, emphasizing that large-scale humanitarian programs must aim for flawless execution.
