Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is set to launch the Government Technology (GovTech) initiative on the independence day on 17 August 2025, aiming to integrate all digital services from ministries and agencies while requiring every family to have a bank account to ensure targeted social assistance distribution.
"The President wants to officially launch the government technology program on August 17, which will unify all existing apps from ministries and agencies. This will enhance efficiency and reduce corruption," said National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan after attending a closed-door meeting led by President Prabowo. on Wednesday (19/3/2025)
He said that GovTech will centralize public services, increasing transparency and minimizing corruption risks. The initiative also includes a policy requiring all families, especially social assistance recipients, to have bank accounts to streamline direct cash transfers.
Luhut added that President Prabowo plans to meet with young innovators behind GovTech, which is expected to be able to save nearly Rp 100 trillion.
GovTech will be built on four pillars: optimizing state revenue (Coretax for taxation and Simbara for mineral and coal revenues), improving spending efficiency (e-Catalogue 6.0), streamlining public services (digital ID, driving licenses, passports, education, healthcare), and facilitating business through an enhanced Online Single Submission (OSS) system to attract investment and support SMEs, according to antaranews.com.
