Inp.polri.go.id - Padang Pariaman. President Prabowo Subianto on Monday (1/12/2025) pledged that the government will not allow thousands of flood survivors across West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh to face hardship on their own.

“We are one big family, and no one will carry this burden alone,” he told evacuees at the Kasai Permai shelter in Batang Anai, as reported by antaranews.com.

The President listened to reports from West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi and Padang Pariaman Regent John Kennedy Azis on damages and the urgent needs of displaced families. He emphasized that the government exists to serve and manage state resources for the people, particularly those hit by ongoing hydrometeorological disasters.

President Prabowo urged unity and collective resilience, calling on communities to “stand together through difficult times for a better future.” After encouraging evacuees, he continued his inspection tour from North Sumatra to Aceh before returning to Jakarta, stressing that flood response efforts must be swift, accurate, and comprehensive.
