Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Communication Office (PCO) said President Prabowo Subianto will not grant amnesty to Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, who was named a graft suspect by Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The Deputy Minister had asked for presidential amnesty after his arrest on Thursday.
“The President has made it clear he will never defend subordinates involved in corruption. We will let law enforcement handle this case,” PCO Head Hasan Nasbi told reporters on Saturday (23/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com
President Prabowo dismissed Immanuel Ebenezer from his post hours after the KPK announcement, according to State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. He stressed the move should serve as a warning to all members of the Merah Putih Cabinet.
Hasan said the President has repeatedly reminded ministers and deputy ministers to work for the people and avoid corruption. Immanuel Ebenezer is the first Prabowo cabinet member charged with graft during the administration’s 10 months in office.
