inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) believes the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will maintain the confidentiality of the 2026 Economic Census (SE) data.

However, the OJK has asked the public to verify the identities of field officers first to prevent misuse of data by irresponsible parties.

"We are confident that BPS has standards, and we trust its credibility in conducting the census. However, we cannot deny that there may be parties who are exploiting this," said Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners, on Monday (7/6/2026).

Friderica views the 2026 Economic Census as an important instrument for capturing a more granular picture of Indonesia's economic conditions.

In this regard, she also urged all financial services businesses (PUJK) to provide valid answers to BPS officers so that the census results reflect the true situation.

According to her, the OJK also needs this data to obtain a more detailed picture, including conditions in various regions, as a basis for supporting the implementation of its supervisory duties.

Furthermore, Friderica also believes that BPS has credibility and adequate standards in maintaining the confidentiality of respondent data.

This confidence is also based on the OJK's experience working with BPS in conducting the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), which ensures that the methodology, field mechanisms, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are strictly implemented.

Nevertheless, she reminded the public to remain vigilant against the possibility of individuals impersonating BPS officers.

"Again, the key is for the public to be vigilant. We must first double-check whether this is truly from BPS officers or others. So, make sure they have their ID cards, and perhaps check with the neighborhood officials (RT/RW) first," said Friderica.

For your information, BPS is currently conducting the 2026 Economic Survey. BPS ensures that all data collected in the 2026 Economic Census will be used solely for statistical purposes and will be kept confidential in accordance with applicable regulations.

Accurate data will help the government formulate more targeted policies that meet the needs of the community.
