Prevents Transnational Crimes, INP International Relations Division Held Training for Border Security Personnel

Inp.polri.go.id – North Kalimantan. North Kalimantan Regional Police held training program for 120 personnel who works at border area to break drug smuggling chains from neighboring countries. The training was held in Indonesian National Police (INP) International Relations Division HQ to prevent drug crimes to human trafficking, with 40 border security from North Kalimantan, 62 Sub-regional police personnel in border area, and eight National Police Attaché personnel from Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore. “The training was to improve personnel awareness on transnational crimes such as drug smuggling and human trafficking,” says North Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya on Thursday (11/2/2023). He says that Norht Kalimantan became the law enforcement priority due to areas such as Malinau and Nunukan who directly bordered with two neighboring countries. “In general, all regions in North Kalimantan Regional Police have the same priority level, such as the Sebatik Island, Nunukan who bordered both in land and sea of Malaysia, and Malinau who bordered with Philippines. For that, the criminal prevention in border areas will be supported by North Kalimantan Regional Police, because it connects with one another,” he said. The police chief says the task in security cannot be done by one institution alone. According to him, security on border are requires cooperation and collaboration with all parties, which initiates the police to held the training. “Police has communicated and told the people in border area, with the support of regional govt and Indonesian Military Force, in facing phenomenon in border area to be quickly reported and handled so as not to escalate into border crimes. This has become our responsibility to prevent transnational crimes and in this case the International Relations Division of INP has held a training to our non-com officer so as to provide benefits to many,” says North Kalimantan Police Chief.
