Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will gradually restore normal long-distance train services starting Thursday (30/4/2026) following operational adjustments implemented after the recent fatal rail accident in East Bekasi.
However, PT KAI emphasized that while some delays may still occur during the recovery phase, safety remains the top priority.
"The recovery process for long-distance train services is ongoing. Services are prepared to return to normal gradually starting Thursday, while prioritizing safety and operational readiness," said Anne Purba, the Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT KAI, as quoted by antaranews.com..
As of Wednesday, PT KAI has processed 13,027 full ticket refunds for passengers affected by the disruptions. The company’s policy offers a 100% refund for cancellations, delays exceeding one hour, or route changes.
Passengers can claim refunds through station counters, the 121 Contact Center, or the Access by KAI app within seven days of their scheduled departure.
