The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) hopes that the Polling Station supervisor (PTPS) ensures that the voting and vote counting went accordingly without any procedural defects. “PTPS must be sharp in supervising while also ensuring no procedural defects in the voting and vote counting at the polling stations,” says Bawaslu member Totok Hariyono on Tuesday (1/30/2024). Furthermore, Totok emphasized that the vote counting at every polling stations must be done at the same day with the voting day. This to prevent any issues coming from the polling stations that might disrupt public security in long term. Moreover, the issues could also potentially cause election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK) which led to re-voting. “Election issues must be cleared at that day, which is why they have to be stern in upholding the regulations,” said Totok. Totok urge the PTPS to be strong and stern in facing various challenges at the polling stations and uphold the regulations down-right to its core. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
