Inp.polri.go.id - Puncak Jaya.  Residents of Muliambut and Pruleme villages have called for additional military and police security posts along the road connecting their communities in Mulia District, Puncak Jaya regency, Central Papua.

The request came in response to a recent spike in criminal activity, including violent assaults allegedly committed by Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) against villagers in the area. Over the past week, there have been multiple reports of such incidents, raising concerns among the local population.

The residents hope that establishing additional security posts will ensure their safety and allow them to go about their daily activities without fear.

In response, Puncak Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Kuswara acknowledged on Thursday (25/7/2024) the request and pledged to report it to higher authorities. He assured the public that efforts would be made to increase security personnel in the region.

"I urge everyone to remain calm and not be afraid. We will work to enhance security through the new posts and regular patrols, so that we can all carry out our activities without fear or concern," he said.
