The National Police Chief  (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the Holy Month of Ramadan serves as a time to strengthen unity following the 2024 election period. "In this blessed month, it's time for us to come together in unity, sharing, understanding, and respecting one another, starting with ourselves and our loved ones," he said as quoted from his Reels Instagram account @listyosigitprabowo on Monday (11/3/2024). Chief Sigit extended greetings to all Muslims in the country observing the Ramadan fast, antaranews.com reported. He highlighted the significance of Ramadan, which follows the democratic process where people exercised their voting rights for the nation's progress. During this Ramadan period, he emphasized the importance for Muslims to cleanse themselves spiritually and seek forgiveness from Allah. "Let's embrace Ramadan with joy and a sense of brotherhood among fellow countrymen," Chief Sigit urged. On behalf of the INP and Bhayangkari, the INP officers' spouses organization, he conveyed his best wishes for Muslims on observing the Ramadan fast. The post, liked by 1,692 followers on Monday night, featured a video showing police personnel engaging in community activities, highlighting the maintained solidarity between the Indonesian Military and the INP. At least 123 netizens commented on the Chief of Police's congratulations on observing the Ramadan fast, which coincided with Nyepi Day, or the Day of Silence observed by Balinese Hindu believers. The government has announced that  the Holy Month of Ramadan started on Tuesday. Some Muslims have begun fasting on Monday and commenced the evening Ramadan  prayers known as tarawih on Sunday night.
