Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti vowed to reform the education system to address widespread cheating among students.
“In response to the persistent habit of cheating, we are working to improve the learning system, teaching approaches, and overall educational orientation,” he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (24/5/2025).
The minister emphasized a shift in focus from grades to values, introducing new strategies in teacher training that prioritize character education and student counseling.
Starting in the 2025/2026 school year, the ministry will implement a “deep learning” approach, aiming to help students find meaning in what they learn and apply it in real life.
This initiative follows findings from the 2024 Education Integrity Index by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), which revealed that cheating remains prevalent in 78% of schools and 98% of universities.
