inp.polri.go.id - Pontianak. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s (Special Detachment) Densus 88 Anti-Terror implemented the "LENTERA KAPUAS" (Literacy, Education, Tolerance Against Radicalism and Terrorism) program at SMAN 6 Pontianak on Monday (1/2/2026).
This activity aimed to raise students' awareness of the dangers of intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism.
Second Police Inspector Yulius Sugiyanto, as the speaker, provided education on the dangers of Intolerance Radicalism Extremism and Terrorism (IRET) ideology and the importance of tolerance.
"We want to instill national values and tolerance in the younger generation so they can become agents of positive change in society," he said.
The event was attended by the Principal of SMAN 6 Pontianak, the Vice Principal for Student Affairs, teachers, and 875 students. In his presentation, Yulius explained the forms of radicalism, its impacts, and how to prevent it. Students were also encouraged to think critically and not be easily provoked by intolerant narratives.
Students hoped to have a better understanding of the dangers of IRET and are able to recognize early signs of exposure to this ideology. "I now understand more about the dangers of radicalism and how to prevent it," said one student.
Densus 88 AT will continue similar education in schools and other communities to prevent the spread of radical ideology. "We will continue to carry out prevention and education efforts to create a safe and peaceful society," added First Inspector Yulius.
