Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Manpower has welcomed a new regulation allowing civil servants to work from anywhere (WFA) with flexible hours, saying it will enhance productivity in public service.

“To increase productivity, you can work from anywhere—it doesn’t have to be in an office,” said Estiarty Haryani, an Expert Staff to the Minister of Manpower for Inter-Institutional Affairs, during the Futuremakers Youth Employability Programme on Thursday (19/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

She added that while this regulation currently applies to ASN, no similar policy has been discussed for the private sector. The focus remains on improving public service delivery through flexible arrangements for government employees.

The policy is governed by Ministerial Regulation No. 4/2025 issued by the Ministry for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, providing legal backing for flexible work setups based on time and location.

Deputy Minister Nanik Murwati emphasized that the new culture of flexibility must maintain, or even improve, the quality of governance and public services.
