Rescue Effort for 10 Missing Climbers Continued: INP Says

Inp.polri.go.id – West Sumatra. West Sumatra Regional Police continue their evacuation effort for the Marapi Mount eruption victims. The evacuation effort was carried out jointly with Indonesian Military Force (TNI), Indonesian National Police (INP), Regional Disaster Management Agency, and other related stake holders. The spoke person of West Sumatra Police, Grand Commissioner Dwi Sulistyawan, states rescue effort were carried out to search the 75 climbers listed on Mount Marapi climbing log. “As of now there are 11 victims suffered from scalds, five passed away, and three others in critical condition,” states Dwi on Tuesday (12/5/2023). According to him, the joint team is intensifying their search for another 10 missing climbers. Sadly, there are only slim chances of them still being alive as they have been missing for days. “We have dispatched a team of ten to continue their search for the missing climbers,” conclude Dwi.
