inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reminded the importance of basic health services that are truly accessible and felt by the community, while reviewing the implementation of the free health check (CKG) program at two health centers in Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday (5/21/2025).
As quoted from the statement received, Gibran visited two health centers, namely the Jatiasih District Health Center, Bekasi, West Java and the Mekarmukti Health Center, North Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java.
This visit is part of the agenda of direct review of the CKG program in West Java, which is one of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto.
The Cikarang and Jatiasih areas were chosen because they reflect the typical challenges of transition areas between urban and rural.
The socio-economic characteristics of this region are quite diverse, with a mix of dense settlements, agricultural land, as well as a population of daily workers, laborers, and immigrants from various regions.
This complexity makes the provision of basic services, especially health, require an inclusive and adaptive approach. This is where the CKG program has strategic relevance.
During his visit, the Vice President also highlighted the need to increase health literacy in the community. According to him, an understanding of the importance of early detection of disease will encourage a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the effectiveness of health services at the basic level.
He also emphasized that the success of this program requires close collaboration between local governments, health facilities, and elements of civil society so that its implementation is sustainable and has a real impact.
On that occasion, an officer at the Mekarmukti Health Center, Jejen Bustomi, said that the CKG service was in great demand by the community. This service is not limited to residents in the health center's work area, but is open to anyone, even from outside the region.
"The development of CKG here is very good. For the service, we use a complete service for CKG patients, free of charge at the Mekarmukti Health Center. So, every day there are those who do CKG checks," concluded Jejen.
