Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Riau Governor Abdul Wahid in a graft sting operation, marking the agency’s sixth such operation in 2025.
“Yes,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto when contacted by antaranews.com on Monday (3/11/2025), a statement later confirmed by KPK Chair Setyo Budiyanto.
“It’s true, the process is ongoing,” he said.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said around 10 people, including state officials, were taken into custody during the operation. Investigators also seized several pieces of evidence, though details have not been disclosed.
“There are about ten people detained in the operation,” he told reporters at the KPK headquarters in Jakarta.
Under the law, KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those detained. The anti-graft agency has intensified its crackdown on corruption in public office, following earlier stings this year involving regional officials, public works agencies, and a former deputy minister.
