President Prabowo Subianto formally handed over the Airbus A400M military transport aircraft to the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Monday (3/11/2025), marking a major boost to the country’s air mobility and defense capabilities.

“This aircraft will enhance our strength. The TNI plays a vital role not only in national defense but also in humanitarian and disaster relief operations,” President Prabowo said after inspecting the A400M’s interior, as reported by antaranews.com.

He also instructed his defense team to equip the aircraft with an air ambulance module and tools for wildfire response. The A400M, the largest transport aircraft in the Indonesian Air Force, can carry up to 37 tons of cargo or 116 armed personnel.

Indonesia has received two A400Ms, with four more under negotiation. The aircraft, configured for both transport and tanker roles, is part of President Prabowo’s broader plan to modernize Indonesia’s defense assets.
