Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Riau Islands Regional Police Chief Inspector General Asep Safrudin inaugurated the Rapid Response Unit (URC) during a morning assembly at Bhayangkara Field, the Riau Islands Police headquarters, on Monday (29/6/2026)to enhance fast and responsive policing services.
“URC was formed so every public report can be immediately followed up. The team also conducts patrols in vulnerable areas as a preventive measure,” said Chief Asep.
The unit, drawn from the Criminal Investigation Unit, operates at both provincial and district levels, focusing on street crimes such as theft, robbery, and motor vehicle theft. Each URC team consists of 10 officers, with about 105 personnel deployed across Kepri.
Operational vehicles have been marked for easy recognition, while the police hotline 110 is being optimized to ensure reports are quickly processed.
