Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Riau Regional Police uncovered a narcotics network operating between Aceh and Jakarta, seizing 933 ecstasy pills and 300 cartridges of liquid etomidate during an operation on Sunday (31/5/2026).
Two suspects, identified as B and MT, were arrested following a joint investigation by Riau’s Narcotics Directorate and Bengkalis Sub-regional Police. The operation was triggered by intelligence on planned drug transactions in Pekanbaru.
“Investigators tracked the suspects to the border of Pekanbaru and Pelalawan, where one suspect attempted to flee before being captured,” said Senior Superintendent Putu Yudha Prawira, the Riau Police Director of Narcotics.
Suspect B is a repeat offender previously convicted of narcotics crimes. Police are continuing investigations to uncover the broader network and its supply routes.
The seizure highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to combating drug trafficking across provincial lines, with authorities emphasizing that coordinated enforcement is essential to protect communities from dangerous substances.
