inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman stated that the government's rice reserve stock (CBP) managed by the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) had reached 5.19 million tons as of April 23, 2026, the highest level in history.
"Today, Indonesia's rice stock is 5,198,000 tons. This is a first, unprecedented achievement in history," said Minister Andi on Thursday (4/23/2026).
According to him, this achievement is the result of collaborative work across sectors, including the government, officials, and public support. He also emphasized the importance of constructive criticism without disinformation in strengthening national food policy.
To anticipate a surge in production, the government is increasing storage capacity by leasing warehouses. Nationally, Bulog's warehouse capacity is around 3 million tons, with additional leased warehouses reaching 2 million tons, with an additional 1 million tons planned.
Andi stated that this increase in stock has strengthened national food security and contributed to global food stability. After importing around 7 million tons of rice in 2023–2024, the government halted imports in 2025 and is optimistic that imports will be eliminated in 2026.
"We are also providing public access to directly inspect Bulog warehouses to ensure transparency of rice stock data," he said.
