Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Rock climbers Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Rajiah Sallsabillah have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Competing at the Le Bourget Climbing Venue on Monday night (5/8/2024), both athletes performed strongly. The qualification consisted of two phases: the seeding round and the elimination round, according to antaranews.com.

Desak Made recorded times of 6.52 seconds on Route A and 6.45 seconds on Route B, securing 6th place. Rajiah finished with 6.67 seconds on Route A and 6.58 seconds on Route B, placing 7th in the seeding round.

In the elimination round, Desak Made defeated Piper Kelly from the US with a time of 6.38 seconds, advancing to the quarterfinals. Rajiah also won a spot due to having the best time among those who lost in the elimination, with 6.58 seconds.

The women’s speed climbing quarter finals will take place on 7 August 2024.
