During the incident, the hospital was treating 134 patients. Immediately when the fire broke out, the RSPP management immediately called for an emergency situation to evacuate the patients to a more secure place. The evacuation process was going quickly, orderly, and safely.
“The safety of our patients is our main priority. All patients have been relocated to a more secure place and have received medical attention,” says the Acting Executive Director of Pertamina Bina Mediak, dr. Lia Gardenia Partakusuma.
Head of the Health Crisis Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Sumarjaya, has coordinated with related parties, and is grateful that there were no victims in the fire incident.
Sumarjaya also noted that the fire first broke out at 13.14 pm.
Then all of his staff moved quickly by contacting the fire department to stop the fire immediately. After 15 fire trucks and 75 firefighters arrived at the location, the fire was able to be extinguished at around 3 pm.
