Vice Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), Ahmad Sahroni, expressed his appreciation for the performance of the Indonesian National Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) in securing the demonstration on August 25, 2025, at the DPR Building. 

According to Sahroni, TNI and INP were able to stay focused on their duty, allowing the situation to proceed safely and smoothly.

"I commend all TNI and INP personnel who watched over the demonstration to run smoothly at the DPR Senayan yesterday. Until the afternoon, the demonstration was observed to proceed safely and smoothly," said Sahroni, Wednesday (8/27/2025).

He stated that TNI and INP continue to approach the protesting public calmly in securing the demonstration. He also expressed his appreciation for the protesters who voiced their concern peacefully.

"This shows that our apparatus can be both firm and humane in securing the space for freedom of expression. I also appreciate the demonstrators who have expressed their aspirations in peace. This shows that we have succeeded in implementing a democratic life in accordance with the rules," explained Sahroni.

Furthermore, he acknowledged that there had been riots during the demonstration two days earlier. However, he said, the authorities were not provoked by the chaos that ensued.

"Meanwhile, for those who were provoking the mass to go riot, I hope you will change in expressing your voice in the future. However, it's inevitable; there will be some friction caused by provocateurs in public demonstrations. Fortunately, the authorities didn't give in. Instead, they showed a firm but measured stance, in accordance with standard operating procedures. This is the kind of humane work we expect from them," said Sahroni.
