Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno states that the next generation of ASEAN has to play an integral role in ensuring employment opportunities, to actively involved in solving various issues.
While being one of the panels of ASEAN+Youth Summit 2023 on Thursday (9/7/2023), he wants to make sure that the young people would take an important and strategic role in tackling issues and providing employment opportunities.
“I have seen the fire of these youngsters in realizing ASEAN citizen show to become their own culture and belongs to ASEAN,” Sandiaga said.
He admits that he was thrilled to meet with the next generation of ASEAN. He put a great expectation and hope for the next generation for having positive energy, creative ideas, and innovative in cultivating MSMEs and women’s empowerment.
“Most of the economic weight is on MSMEs, and 90% of employment came from MSMEs with 60% of them runs in creative culinary, fashion, crafts, digital economy, music, film, animation, most of which empowered by women. What I want to say is that this entrepreneurship should become the identity of ASEAN and must be promoted as ASEAN culture,” explained Sandiaga.
Furthermore, Sandiaga states that various international events, including the 43rd ASEAN Summit, hold great significance in reviving tourism. He firmly believes that young people have participated in reviving Indonesian tourism.
“And we believe that we set a tall order. 1.2 billion to 1.4 billion of nusantara tourism in 2023, will be run by the young people” conclude Sandiaga.
