Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team has recovered the body of a woman reported missing, believed to have been attacked by a crocodile in the Bilah River, Bilah Hilir District, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra.

Mustari, the Head of the Medan Search and Rescue Office, said that the search began after they received a report of a missing resident on Friday.

“The body showed signs of crocodile bites. The search commenced after we received the information on Saturday morning,” he said on Sunday (6/10/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The body was discovered at 6.40 pm, about 500 meters downstream from where the victim was last seen.

The team utilized a rubber landing craft (LCR) to scour the river, as witnesses reported seeing two crocodiles at the time of the incident. The event occurred when the 59-year-old victim fell into the river while sitting on the bank.
