inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Youth and Sports Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo stated that the School Free Health Check (CKG) program is an important step by the government in developing a healthy young generation while also opening up opportunities for early detection of potential athletes.
"This program is very beneficial because it provides an initial overview of students' physical and mental condition. This also allows us to identify potential kids who could be nurtured into future athletes," said the Minister of Youth and Sports on Monday (8/4/2025).
The Minister explained that the test data from this program will serve as an important reference for understanding the overall health landscape of Indonesian youth. The tests include screening for anemia, obesity, high blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and psychological aspects.
"This is not just about health, but also supports the athlete scouting process. We now have a database to identify high-performing students from school age," he said.
The School CKG program is part of the national Free Health Check initiative, launched on February 10, 2025, and has reached more than 16 million people. Starting August 4, the program's coverage was expanded to schools.
The Ministry of Health is targeting 53.8 million students from approximately 282,000 educational institutions across Indonesia to participate in this program. For students not yet covered, services can be accessed through community health centers (Puskesmas).
