"We will all carry out a simultaneous corn harvest in the second quarter on an area of 344,524 hectares with an estimated harvest of 1.78 million-2.54 million tons," he said at the 2025 Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the Second Quarter in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, quoted by Antaranews in Jakarta, Thursday (6/5/2025).

Specifically in West Kalimantan Province, a harvest will be carried out on an area of 2,054.3 hectares with an estimated harvest of 10,102-20,136.6 tons.

Meanwhile, in Bengkayang Regency, he continued, a mass harvest will be held on 218.35 hectares of land with an estimated harvest of 873.4-2,183 tons.

Of all the land, 56 hectares of it belongs to Harry Hadisoemantri Air Force Base, which previously faced the challenge of low production due to limited tools and traditional methods.

Through collaboration between Bengkayang Sub-regional Police, Harry Hadisoemantri Air Force Base, and various stakeholders and farmer groups, the productivity of the land has now increased drastically from 2 tons per hectare to 9.3 tons per hectare.

"Farmers' income has also increased from around IDR 500,000 per month to IDR 4 million per month," said the Chief of Police.

The presence of INP in farm management at Harry Hadisoemantri Air Force Base, has also provided a guarantee of protection for the corn farming ecosystem so that middlemen who previously took advantage of farmers have now been successfully eliminated.
