inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police coordinated with the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters' International Relations Division and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to search for drug dealers in Thailand.
"We have coordinated with INP International Relations Division as we do not have a wider reach to uncover drug trafficking cases," said Soekarno Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Ronald Sipayung in Tangerang, Thursday (6/5/2025).
So far, he said, the police have arrested several suspected drug smugglers and dealers from Indonesia. They are part of a gang of drug dealers in Thailand.
"With the successful arrest of several suspects, it is hoped that it can provide clues to the main perpetrators. Until now, all cases of etomidate drug trafficking have come from abroad, so none of them came from Indonesia, of course this is a signal for us to try to arrest the main perpetrators by coordinating with foreign police," he explained.
Ronald hopes that the security authorities in Thailand can be more active in monitoring drug smuggling activities, so that later there will be no more drug trafficking to Indonesia.
