Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police held a ceremony for the inauguration and appointment of the Jakarta Regional Board of the Indonesian Security Guard Professionals Association (DPD-APSI) on Thursday (1/8/2024).

Representing Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto, Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, emphasized the vital role of security guards in maintaining safety and order in work environments.

"Therefore, the presence of DPD APSI Jaya as a professional body for security guards in the Jakarta area is crucial for enhancing the professionalism and quality of security services," he said.

He also noted that security guards play an increasingly critical role amidst rapid economic and industrial developments. They contribute not only to physical security but also to creating a conducive investment climate.

Chief Djati reiterated that security guards provide reassurance to investors and businesses, fostering economic growth, and have the authority to act as the first line of defense against workplace and commercial area crimes.

“Their ability to detect and handle security incidents early significantly supports the police in maintaining public order,” he added.

Chief Djati also highlighted the importance of security guards in protecting key assets such as industrial facilities, production sites, intellectual property, and supply chains. Modern security guards are expected to understand risk management well, identifying, analyzing, and responding to various security threats in a dynamic business environment.

“This capability not only safeguards company assets but also supports the continuity of business operations,” he said.
