Rudy Syafirudin, Dirpolair (Director of Water Police), Police Grand Commissioner Raden Setijo Nugroho, Dirreskrimum (Director of General Criminal Investigation), Police Grand Commissioner Yoseph Wihastono Yoga Pranoto, Dirreskrimsus (Director of Special Crimes Investigation), Police Grand Commissioner Johanson Ronald Simamora, DansatBrimob (Unit Commander of Police Mobile Brigade), Police Grand Commissioner Farid Bachtiar Effendi, Head of Public Affairs, Police Grand Commissioner Iskandar Fitriana Sutisna, and the Chief of Pati Resort Police Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Arie Prasetya Syaanggaran along with the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pati Resort Police. Central Java Regional Police Ahmad Luthfi said Central Java Regional Police succeeded in uncovering major case related to the documentation of motor vehicles that were not on the vehicle in Pati area. This is based on reports from the public to the Pati Resort Police, which were followed up by the Central Java Regional Police, and succeeded in arresting nine perpetrators. "For the information, there is a container used as a means of their crime, and now one container has been unloaded during the crime scene. However, there are still other containers that will be opened later. From the case development on May 19, 2021, with the presence of suspected vehicle in this warehouse, members of the Criminal Investigation of Pati Resort Police investigated the case and arrested the nine perpetrators. It was true there were 57 motorbikes and 11 cars in the warehouse, ready to be shipped to Timor Leste. Furthermore, our team continued to investigate and thanks to the coordination with the Tanjung Mas Semarang Pelindo, the 11 container that would be shipped to Timor Leste were found,” Chief of Central Java Regional Police added. "Based on the investigation, we have secured 9 suspects. The modus operandi of the suspects is to trick the officers, that the vehicle will be sent to Kalimantan, but after cross-checking, it turns out that they will be sent to Timor Leste. The perpetrators have run their operation for three years. From the results of the investigation, all vehicles in the crime scene have no legal documents. The perpetrators buy online and on a rental basis, then they unload the vehicle here, put it in a container and send it to Tanjung Mas Semarang, equipped with documents and send it to Timor Leste," continued the Chief of Central Java Regional Police. "Currently investigators have completed the case files. The perpetrators will be subject to articles 481 and 480 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code. I also highly appreciate staff at Pati Resort Police, especially the investigators in revealing this case. I advise the public not to be easily interested in cheap motorbike or cars. If the public finds out about this, immediately report to the nearest police station. Don’t be easily fooled and lured by cheap prices. Please check the authenticity of the vehicle certificate to the nearest police station. If the prospective seller cannot show the BPKB (certificate of vehicle ownership) with the reason of being mortgaged or whatever, then cancel the sale and purchase transaction.
