Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kudus Regency reports there are seven fatalities due to the recent flood disaster. The flood has inundated the regency since Thursday (3/14/2024). “Six were drowned and one was electrocuted during the flood,” says the Head of Emergency Section of Kudus BPBD, Munaji on Tuesday (3/19/2024). The reports detailed that one was slipped and drowned in Temulus Field, three were drowned in Kirig Field, and one was drowned near river dam. Meanwhile, the victim who was electrocuted died after standing near electric pole during flood. According to the report of Monday (3/18/2024), the flood is still inundated five districts in Kudus Regency, which are Mejobo, Jati, Undaan, Jekulo, and Kaliwungu. The disaster affects 13,586 families and around 1,287 families have been evacuated to the evacuation posts. Moreover, the reports also reveal there are 6,523 houses were flooded and 2,295 hectares of field are inundated. Kudus BPBD and joint team to this day are still trying to evacuate the people in the affected area and monitor the situation. Officials continue to distribute aids to the people, and also gave emotional support and medical treatment for the victims. The evacuation posts are spread into 25 locations, which are Gulang Village Hall, Payaman Village Hall, Jati Wetan Village Hall, Kedungdowo Village Hall among others. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
