Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The East Java Regional Police forensic teams have identified seven more victims from the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school collapse in Sidoarjo, East Java, bringing the total to 17 identified victims out of 59 body bags recovered.
The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) unit confirmed the latest results Monday night (6/10/2025).
“The DVI team examined eight body bags consisting of seven complete remains and one body part. Seven matched the antemortem data provided by families,” said East Java Police Head of Medical Unit Senior Superintendent M. Khusnan, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Some victims were found with separated body parts, according to Indonesian National Police (INP) DVI Bureau Head Senior Superintendent Wahju Hadijati, but forensic analysis confirmed the fragments belonged to single individuals.
Meanwhile, National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Chief Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii said rescue operations would continue until all rubble is cleared. “The mission will end only when the site is fully clean and no victims remain,” he said.
