Inp.polri.go.id - Ranai.  Deputy Regent Rodhial Huda of Natuna, Riau Islands, revealed on Saturday (20/4/2024) Singapore's interest in Natuna as a food supplier, particularly for livestock, fisheries, and vegetables. 

Despite three proposals, the latest in late 2023, Natuna was not ready due to limited industrial development and reliance on external sources for basic needs, he said. 

However, efforts persist to seize this economic opportunity, which could significantly enhance the region's economy and welfare, according to antaranews.com.

Zulfikar, the Head of Livestock Division at Natuna's Food Security and Agriculture Office, highlighted Natuna's role as a cattle supplier to the Riau Islands, with a current population of 9,159 cattle. 

Managed traditionally by the community, these cattle include heifers and mature cattle suitable for slaughter.
