inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the massive protest in Pati was under control, despite some anarchy. The demonstration took place in front of the Pati Regency Regent's Office, Central Java.
"What is clear is that yesterday, despite the chaotic situation, was under control. The people who were going to meet with the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) were well-received, and a discussion took place," explained General Sigit, Thursday (8/14/2025).
General Sigit also reminded that the demonstration must remain orderly and not damage public facilities. The INP Chief ordered his staff to investigate the arson incident that occurred at the location.
According to General Sigit, the police will always provide space for the public to express their opinions, even facilitating and assisting with mediation. He emphasized that order must remain a priority during the expression of opinions.
"Essentially, we always facilitate and provide space for the public to express their opinions. However, my message is that please do it peacefully," said INP Chief.
