inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, emphasized that halal certification aims to provide legal certainty in providing protection for product halalness.
"Because halal is a standard that reflects product quality. Halal means healthy, halal means hygienic, halal means clean, so halal products are quality," said the Head of BPJPH on Thursday (August 14, 2025).
Furthermore, he said that halal certification also adds economic value for businesses in producing and trading their products.
"Currently, many non-Muslim countries are competing to develop the halal industry, and they have succeeded in becoming global exporters of halal products, their products trusted and consumed by global consumers," he added.
Furthermore, the Head of BPJPH emphasized that in this era of free trade, industries that do not have halal certification will actually suffer losses.
"Therefore, I always urge everyone to adhere to halal standards. Our halal ecosystem has enormous potential. By adhering to halal standards, our products will be increasingly competitive in both domestic and international markets," said the Head of BPJPH.
BPJPH also has halal certification programs, including the One Million Free Halal Certifications (SEHATI) program this year, which has been implemented and benefited many beneficiaries.
