Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional lPolice have arrested an alleged operator of an online gambling ring with links to a Hong Kong lottery network, in West Cilandak, South Jakarta. 

The arrest of the suspect, identified as NM, followed community reports of illegal gambling in the area. The South Jakarta Police investigators seized various items, including a mobile phone, a bank ATM card, cash, and lottery number logs, according to antaranews.com.

“We uncovered an online gambling operation tied to the Hong Kong network,” said South Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Chief Superintendent Gogo Galesung. “The suspect collected bets from participants, with entries closing at 10 p.m. and results announced at 11 pm”

Suspect NM faces charges under the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law and the Criminal Code’s gambling regulations, with a potential sentence of up to 10 years if convicted.
