Inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. The Whoosh high-speed train was briefly halted on Monday (27/1/2025) after a person with mental health issues entered the tracks at Km 53 in Karawang, West Java.
General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Eva Chairunisa, confirmed that security teams have intervened to secure the person, minimizing delays.
“Security teams acted quickly to remove the person from the tracks,” she said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The incident caused slight delays as evacuation and track clearance were carried out. KCIC emphasized its commitment to security with regular patrols every 500 meters, real-time monitoring via 1,390 strategically placed CCTVs, and fencing along the route.
Investigations revealed that the person accessed the tracks through a water channel connected to a nearby river. KCIC pledged to address this gap to prevent future incidents.
