Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced on Saturday night (28/12/2024)  that the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, originally scheduled for 23 December 2024, in Langkawi, is being rescheduled for January 2025.

"We're aiming for January," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Secretary Prasetyo added that discussions are ongoing between the protocol teams of both countries to finalize the new date as quickly as possible.

The delay was attributed to domestic commitments, including preparations for Christmas and New Year celebrations. However, PM Anwar stated on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the meeting was postponed due to President Prabowo falling ill.

"My family and I were already in Langkawi to welcome my friend, President Prabowo Subianto. However, last night he requested to postpone the meeting due to fever," he shared on 23 December 2024.

His explanation was later clarified by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who stated that President Prabowo returned to Jakarta for urgent domestic matters. Upon arrival, President Prabowo chaired a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace.
