Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Sentani Airport Police shot and arrested a man suspected of stealing a parking car belonging to the Mobile Brigade at the Sentani Airport on Saturday (11/5/2024)..

The suspect, identified as MA, is currently at Bhayangkara Kotaraja Hospital for  medical treatment. 

Jayapura Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Fredrickus W.A. Maclarimboen said that the theft occurred on Friday around 2 pm local time. 

The vehicle was in the airport parking lot awaiting members of the Cartenz Peace Task Force.

According to CCTV footage, the vehicle was seen forcefully exiting the parking area by crashing through the airport gate barrier. Despite attempts by airport security and personnel to chase the perpetrator, the suspect managed to flee towards Jayapura.

The investigation into the motive behind the theft is ongoing.
