inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo spoke about the recommendations of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission (KPRP) regarding the strengthening of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas). He believes that such strengthening is sufficient by revising several provisions in the Police Law.
"Yes, I think the revised Police Law will regulate the functioning of INP and Kompolnas," explained General Sigit at INP Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday (5/6/2026).
According to him, there is no need for a separate law specifically addressing Kompolnas
"So there's no need for a new law, but instead we have to ensure the functions and authorities there need to be strengthened and included in the revised law," explained Sigit.
Previously, KPRP recommended strengthening Kompolnas as part of the INP’s external oversight. One recommendation is to eliminate the ex-officio membership of Kompolnas, with all members being elected from community representatives.
